Solicitation Issued on Behalf of the Department of Health and Senior Services

Summary (Newest Update)

Background The State of Missouri, through the Department of Health and Senior Services, is seeking proposals for a feasibility assessment of the Missouri Graduate Medical Education (GME) program. This initiative aims to address the shortage of residency positions for medical graduates in Missouri, particularly in rural and underserved areas. The GME program was established by the state legislature to support the expansion of residency positions at accredited medical residency programs, focusing on improving healthcare access and workforce distribution. Work Details The contractor will conduct a comprehensive feasibility assessment for establishing an ACGME-accredited residency program or a rural training track program. This includes evaluating the potential for incorporating eight weeks of addiction medicine or psychiatry training and eight weeks of rural training into the GME program. The assessment must address various specialties including Family Medicine, General Surgery, Internal Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics, and Psychiatry. The contractor is required to collaborate with the state-funded GME Technical Assistance Center (GME TAC) throughout the process and report progress to the state agency. Additionally, participation in training events and meetings as requested by the state agency is mandatory. Period of Performance The contract period will commence upon contract execution and will last for one year. Place of Performance The services will be performed in Missouri, specifically targeting rural and underserved areas as identified during the feasibility assessment. Bidder Requirements Bidders must have a minimum of three years of experience in relevant fields such as hospital facilities or medical institutions that award MD or DO degrees. They must also demonstrate experience working with underserved populations and managing budgets. Vendors must be registered in MissouriBUYS with 'Approved' status to be eligible for contract award.
