Background The Jefferson Parish Department of Public Works is seeking a contractor for a two-year contract focused on preventative maintenance and repairs of electrical switchgear and related equipment. This initiative aims to ensure the reliability and efficiency of the electrical systems supporting the waterworks in Jefferson Parish, Louisiana. Work Details The contractor will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance and emergency repairs on electrical switchgear and related equipment at both East and West Jefferson Waterworks. The scope includes: - Major Preventative Maintenance Program on all existing electrical systems at East Jefferson Waterworks (Item 0010, First Year). - Major Preventative Maintenance Program on all existing electrical systems at West Jefferson Waterworks (Item 0020, Second Year). - Inspection of grounding systems at elevated water storage tanks (Items 0030 and 0035). - Related manhole work and inspections as described (Item 0040). - Cost per man-hour for engineering services (Item 0050), technician services (Item 0060), and electrician services (Item 0070). The contractor must respond to emergency callouts within thirty minutes by phone and be on-site within ninety minutes. All work must comply with applicable safety codes, standards, and specifications outlined in the solicitation. Period of Performance The contract will be performed over a two-year period, commencing upon the issuance of a Notice to Proceed. Bidder Requirements Bidders must possess a current Louisiana State Contractor’s License in the major classification ELECTRICAL. Additionally, contractors must be certified by NETA (InterNational Electrical Testing Association) with proof of certification submitted with their bid. An electronic bid bond of 5% of the total bid price is required upon submission.
