Background The University of North Dakota (UND), on behalf of Mayville State University (MaSU), is seeking qualified architectural consultant firms to assist in the renovation of classroom space into a Nursing Laboratory, observation room, and classroom. This initiative aims to enhance educational facilities and support the university's mission of providing quality education in nursing. Work Details The selected architect will be responsible for programming, planning, design, and renovation of the specified spaces within the Classroom Building at MaSU. The scope includes: - Analysis of building conditions and deferred maintenance review. - Building code analysis and addressing life safety issues. - Accessibility improvements, restroom upgrades, and classroom utilization assessments. - Evaluation of MEP systems including HVAC flexibility/capacity for potential office additions. - Incorporation of energy-efficient lighting systems and upgrades for IT components including Wi-Fi access points. Basic services to be provided after approval of the Programming/Pre-Design phase include Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents, Bidding, and Contract Administration under a Construction Manager at Risk (CMaR) delivery format. The architect must also prepare documents for owner review during the design process including cost estimates at various stages (50%, 75%, and 100% completion). Additional services may include construction surveying, geotechnical investigations, materials testing, and construction administration. Period of Performance The contract term is set for 2 years or until work is completed as determined by MaSU. Place of Performance Classroom Building at Mayville State University. Bidder Requirements Bidders must have a minimum of five years' experience related to renovation or remodeling work on older buildings. An architectural license in good standing with the State of North Dakota is required. Additionally, bidders must register with the North Dakota Secretary of State within sixty days from notice of intent to award.
