Synopsis: NASA/NSSC has a requirement for SL500 Hardware and Install. NASA/NSSC intends to issue a sole source contract to YSI Inc under the authority of FAR 12.102(a). It has been determined that YSI Inc 1725 Brannum LN Yellow Springs Ohio 45387 1107 United States is the sole provider of SL500 Hardware and Install NASA/NSSC will be the procuring center for this effort. Performance will be located at NASA/ Ames Research Center (ARC). The Government intends to acquire Commercialitems or services using the provisions, clauses and procedures prescribed in FAR Part 12 for Commercial The NAICS Code for this procurement is 334513. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 3:00 p.m. Central Standard Time on 5/1/2026. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Background NASA/NSSC has a requirement for the acquisition of SL500 Hardware and Install to support operations at NASA Ames Research Center (ARC). The contract will be issued as a sole source to YSI Inc, identified as the sole provider for this hardware and installation service. The procurement is intended to utilize the provisions and procedures outlined for commercial items. Work Details The contract includes the installation of a real-time system with SonTek SL500 and YSI EXO sonde, requiring the expertise of one experienced YSI Field Engineer on-site for 5-8 days, depending on environmental conditions. The procurement encompasses: - One YSI Field Engineer on-site for 5 days (+3 additional days if needed) to assist with installation. - Channel survey services. - Travel expenses for the field engineer. - All necessary installation hardware including: - Replacement cables (40-m power and RS232/SDI-12 communications cable, EXO 33-m Flying Lead Cable). - Installation hardware such as aluminum well, aluminum pipe, fittings, plates, U-bolts, Unistrut, clamps, and custom clamps for mounting. - A custom shipping crate for all materials. - One year warranty on standard sensors and accessories. Period of Performance The period of performance for this contract is from May 13, 2026, to July 30, 2026.
