Background The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) has a requirement for the operation of a National Atmospheric Deposition Program/National Trends Network (NADP/NTN) wet atmospheric monitoring station. The goal of this contract is to ensure the proper collection and processing of precipitation samples and associated data, which is critical for environmental monitoring and research. Work Details The contractor will be responsible for the following tasks: 1. Conduct weekly site visits to collect, process, and ship precipitation samples. 2. Collect, process, and transmit associated data including the precipitation gage record. 3. Perform routine instrument checks, maintenance, and repairs as needed. The contract is specifically requested as a sole source award to Miami University (Ohio), which operates the site under restricted access conditions due to its private land ownership. Period of Performance The contract will require ongoing support with approximately 52 trips per year to the monitoring station. Place of Performance The work will be performed at a NADP/NTN wet atmospheric monitoring station located on private land owned by Miami University (Ohio), in rural and remote areas that are not publicly accessible.
