Background The Indian Health Service (IHS) is an agency within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services responsible for providing federal health services to American Indians and Alaska Natives. The IHS aims to ensure comprehensive, culturally appropriate personal and public health services are accessible to these populations. The Navajo Area Indian Health Service (NAIHS) serves over 244,000 American Indians in five Federal service units on and near the Navajo Nation, which is one of the largest Indian reservations in the U.S. The Pinon Health Center, part of NAIHS, provides outpatient services to approximately 11,000 patients, primarily Navajo. Work Details The contractor shall provide outpatient Family Practice / General Medicine Physician services at the Pinon Health Center. Responsibilities include: - Delivering urgent care walk-in Family Practice/General Medicine services to I.H.S. patients. - Ensuring compliance with IHS medical facility standards, including documentation accuracy and adherence to HIPAA regulations. - Managing patient information according to HIPAA standards and IHS protocols. - Participating in quality assurance activities and performance improvement efforts. - Maintaining a valid Nurse Practitioner license and certifications throughout the contract period. - Completing all required administrative tasks related to onboarding and credentialing. Place of Performance Services will be performed at the Pinon Health Center located in Pinon, Arizona.
