Background The Fort Jackson Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS) is seeking a contractor to provide noon meals (sub sandwiches) for Armed Forces applicants processing at their facility located in Columbia, South Carolina. The goal of this contract is to ensure that applicants receive nutritious meals during their processing period, which is essential for maintaining the health and well-being of individuals undergoing military entrance procedures. Work Details The contractor shall provide boxed lunch meals prepared in a state/local licensed facility, transport them to the MEPS, and serve them as requested by the contracting officer or authorized representative. Meals must be sourced from sanitarily approved facilities, and all food items must comply with Army Regulation 40-657 regarding food safety. The contractor is responsible for cleaning the dining area after meal service and ensuring that all waste is removed. The contractor must also maintain records of self-inspections to ensure compliance with contract requirements. Meals will be served Monday through Friday, excluding legal holidays and training days, with additional meals required on certain Saturdays and during extended hours processing days. Each meal will consist of a sandwich, lettuce, tomato, chips, cookies, fruit (apple or banana), straw, and napkin. The contractor must also provide cold beverages and condiments as specified.
