Background The City of Pittsburgh Office of Management & Budget is soliciting a list of pre-qualified contractors for Tree Planting. The goal of this contract is to ensure that the City has access to qualified vendors who can provide tree planting services, maintenance, and related work within public properties and rights-of-way. The initial contract period will commence upon execution and terminate at midnight on June 30, 2030. Work Details The scope of work includes the furnishing, purchasing, and installation of trees for restorations and streetscapes at various locations within the City. Related work encompasses saw-cutting and removal of sidewalk surfaces, removal and replacement of tree grates/guards, installation of block stone/brick surfaces in tree pits, removal of dead trees, spoil removal, placement of topsoil and soil amendments, tree stakes, site protection, cleanup, deer fencing, maintenance requirements (watering, re-mulching, pruning), and settlement correction. Vendors are expected to provide a three-year management cycle for full establishment of Restoration-Sized trees and a one-year warranty for balled and burlapped street or landscape trees. Vendors are encouraged to involve community-based organizations for long-term success. Period of Performance The contract will commence upon execution and will terminate at midnight on June 30, 2030. Place of Performance Work will be performed within the public property limits and rights-of-way of the City of Pittsburgh as well as within parks and playgrounds. Bidder Requirements Vendors must submit an application packet that includes an electronic copy of the Agreement, IRS Form W-9, an original Insurance Certificate naming the City as 'additional insured', completed Exhibits A-D, and a City-issued Contractor's License. Vendors must also demonstrate good faith efforts to include Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs) in their bids with specific participation goals: 18% MBE, 7% WBE, 5% VOSB, and 3% LGBTQIA+ participation.
