The USG intends to 100% set-aside this acquisition for a small business concern. Background The U.S. Government (USG) is preparing to issue a contract for the leasing of equipment at Fort Hood, Texas, aimed at determining network interoperability and informing future requirements. This acquisition is intended to be 100% set-aside for small business concerns. Work Details The contract involves leasing an Integrated Survivable Private 5G system with Local Edge, Hybrid Cloud, and SATCOM Connectivity. The salient characteristics required include: 1. High-Altitude Electromagnetic Pulse (HEMP) Hardening: Must survive E1, E2, or E3 pulses; built to MIL-STD-188-125-1 standards; ensures operational continuity during nuclear or EMP events. 2. Micro-Data Center (MDC) Capabilities: Edge computing for local processing of sensor data; low latency for real-time applications. 3. Integrated 5G/Private Network Core: Establishes secure high-speed connectivity; stealth and low probability of detection; interoperability with legacy tactical radios. 4. Physical and Cyber Security (Zero Trust): Tamper resistance; end-to-end encryption based on Zero Trust Architecture. 5. Resilient Power Management: Independent energy storage and multi-source power input capabilities. Key procurement characteristics include EMP survivability, edge intelligence, rapid deployment, and autonomous core operations. Compliance with cybersecurity standards such as Risk Management Framework (RMF), Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA), FIPS 140-3 data encryption, and Supply Chain Risk Management (SCRM) is essential.
