Background The USS Makin Island (LHD-8) is seeking services for the inspection, repair, or replacement of the AFT Winch Inverter #860-02024. The inverter is crucial for operating the control panel and load center breaker that powers the port boat davit, which is essential for launching small boats onboard. This contract aims to ensure that the inverter is functional and meets operational standards. Work Details 1.0 General Requirements for Inspection, Repair and Install: 1.1 Assess material condition of inverter that requires refurbishment and troubleshoot and assess inverter. 1.2 Contractor to provide information if refurbishment will be required or new replacement. 1.3 If refurbishment required, move on to 1.4. 1.4 Contractor refurbish and reinstall inverter on Port Boat Davit boat deck for operational checks. 1.5 Contractor conduct OPTEST and QA following installation. 1.6 Contractor troubleshoot as necessary until SAT OPTEST of the inverter is accomplished. 2.0 Salvage Parts: Refurbish or provide new inverter if needed upon contractor assessment of turned-in item. 3.0 Packing/Pick-Up/Delivery: Company will send the material to USS Makin Island LHD8, BLDG 3581 MPC DLA Distribution San Diego, Cummings Road, San Diego CA 92136. 4.0 Inspection and Acceptance: Inverter will be assessed by contractor upon arrival and initial inspection. Ship’s force will accept work complete once OPTEST and QA points are SAT. 5.0 Compliance and Standards: While on military installation, the Contractor shall be subject to monitoring and inspection but shall not be deemed employees or agents of the military installation.
