Requirement for Bid Bond

Acceptable substitutes for a bid bond: a certified check, an official bank check, a cashier's checks drawn on a national bank or a bank chartered under the laws of the state, payable to City of Omaha, or lawful money of the United States, or a United States Government Bond (negotiable). LETTERS OF CREDIT ARE NOT AN ACCEPTABLE SUBSTITUTE FOR A BID BOND AND WOULD BE CAUSE FOR REJECTION OF BID. The bid bond amount is listed in the Attributes section. A copy of the bid bond/acceptable substitute shall be uploaded in the Response Attachments section. The selected vendor will be responsible for adhering to industry standards set by organizations such as the Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) and the Carpet and Rug Institute. Work Details The contract includes cleaning services for eleven library facilities, which are: - A.V. Sorensen Branch - Benson Branch - Bess Johnson Elkhorn Branch - Central Library - Charles B. Washington Branch - Downtown Branch - Florence Branch - Millard Branch - Milton R. Abrahams Branch - W. Clark Swanson Branch - Willa Cather Branch. Additionally, story time/area rug cleaning services are required at Saddlebrook Branch and South Omaha Library. Specific tasks include: 1. Restorative/deep cleaning of carpets in entire facilities. 2. Maintenance cleaning of carpets in entire facilities. 3. Regular maintenance cleaning of designated medium and high traffic areas. 4. Annual upholstery cleaning for various styles of chairs and sofas across all branches. 5. Emergency carpet cleaning services as needed. Period of Performance The contract period will commence upon award and is expected to last for one year with options for renewal based on performance and funding availability. Place of Performance Services will be performed at multiple locations throughout Omaha, Nebraska including various branches of the Omaha Public Library. Bidder Requirements Bidders must provide a bid bond or acceptable substitute as specified in the solicitation documents. They should have certified technicians (IICRC or ISSA certified) to perform or supervise the cleaning services directly. Additionally, bidders must comply with the City of Omaha's Contract Compliance Ordinance if awarded a contract valued at $10,000 or more.
