Background The City of Chattanooga, Tennessee is issuing a contract for the FY26 Citywide Resurfacing project. The mission of this project is to enhance the infrastructure by resurfacing designated streets to improve safety and accessibility for all road users. The goal is to provide comprehensive roadway maintenance that includes various operations necessary for effective street resurfacing. Work Details The scope of work includes furnishing all materials, equipment, and labor for the resurfacing of designated streets. This encompasses mobilization, parking sign placement, public notification, placement of traffic control devices per MUTCD, cleaning and conditioning of roadways, repair of base failures as needed, adjustment of sanitary manholes and other publicly owned structures as required, milling as directed; placement and compaction of hot mix asphalt, saw cutting and installation of traffic signal loop wires where required, upgrade of ADA compliant curb ramps as directed, and placement of temporary and permanent pavement markings as required. Specific items include: - Cold Planing Bituminous Pavement (400,000 SY) - Mobilization (1 LS) - Asphalt Surfacing (33,000 TON) - Base Repairs (3,500 TON) - ADA Compliant Curb Ramp Installation (130 EA) - Traffic Control including production of new 'No Parking' signs (1 LS) - Temporary Striping (40 LM), among others. Period of Performance The contract duration is 280 days from the issuance of the Notice to Proceed. Place of Performance The work will be performed in various locations throughout the City of Chattanooga. Bidder Requirements Bidders must be licensed in accordance with the State of Tennessee Contractor's Licensing Act. The intent is to hire a General Contractor capable of completing all work or managing subcontractors effectively.
