Background The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Kansas City District, is issuing this solicitation for crane and operator rental services at the Harlan County Lake Project located in Republican City, NE. The mission of the Corps is to provide vital public engineering services in peace and war to strengthen the nation's security, energize the economy, and reduce risks from disasters. The goal of this contract is to mobilize and assist with the assembly and removal of a dredge at Gremlin Cove. Work Details The contractor is required to perform the following tasks: 1. Mobilize and assist in the assembly of a dredge at Gremlin Cove by lifting two pontoons from a truck and placing them over water for assembly, lifting the center section from a truck and placing it between the pontoons, and lifting two spuds from a truck to attach them to the dredge. 2. Option 1 involves mobilizing and assisting with the removal of the assembled dredge and spuds from water at Gremlin Cove, where the dredge will be placed on a trailer or on a pad near the boat ramp. 3. Option 2 includes mobilizing and assisting with placing the assembled dredge back into water after being picked from a trailer or pad, followed by placing the two spuds back onto the dredge. The contractor must supply all personnel required for safe lifts, including riggers and signalers, submit a lift plan for review at least 7 business days prior to scheduled lifts, and provide specifications for cranes used for bridge load rating assessments by USACE.
