Permanent Public Art at Reno-Tahoe International Airport

Background

The Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority (RTAA) Arts at the Airport Program is seeking to commission a professional visual artist or artist team to create site-specific wall-based artworks for the new Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority Headquarters and Police Station located on Reno-Tahoe International Airport property. The goal of this initiative is to enhance the airport's aesthetic appeal with thematic, public-facing art that will become part of the permanent collection at the airport.

Work Details

The contract involves creating five (5) distinct wall-based artworks to be installed on five different interior walls within the new headquarters and police station building. Each selected artist will receive a budget of up to $20,000 for their artwork. The artworks must be thematic and suitable for public display.

Period of Performance

The application period opens on April 17, 2026, and submissions are due by June 17, 2026, at 2:00 PM PT.

Place of Performance

The artworks will be installed inside the new Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority Headquarters & Police Station building located in Reno, Nevada.
