Background The National Park Service (NPS) is issuing a solicitation for construction work at Padre Island National Seashore, located in Corpus Christi, TX. The goal of this contract is to repair and restore the integrity of the beach boundaries by replacing damaged beach security bollards. This project is part of NPS's mission to maintain and protect natural resources and public access to national parks. Work Details The work consists of the replacement in-kind of twenty-three (23) damaged, missing, and out-of-alignment fiberglass beach security bollards/pilings with a diameter of 12 inches. The tasks include: - Replacing 23 failed or failing bollards entirely with new bollards that match existing dimensions and materials; - Using manufactured fiberglass pilings that are resistant to weather, storm damage, and impact; - Including piling cone caps and fasteners. The existing bollards are 15 feet tall and were manufactured by Pearson Pilings from an epoxy/vinyl ester material known for its high elongation, low styrene monomer content, high heat deflection temperature, and chemical resistance. Installation requires burying the new bollards to a depth of no less than 8 feet using hydro jetting techniques while utilizing adjacent saltwater sources to minimize impacts on surrounding natural resources at two separate locations. Additionally, the installation includes placing ten (10) aluminum 'Authorized Vehicles Only Beyond this Point' placards. Period of Performance The period of performance for this contract is 60 calendar days, anticipated to begin in late June or early July 2026 contingent upon the issuance of a Notice to Proceed. Place of Performance The construction projects will be performed at Padre Island National Seashore, located at 101 Corpus Christi TX 78480.
