Background

The State of Nevada, Department of Human Services (DHS), Division of Social Services (DSS) is seeking proposals from qualified vendors for Energy Assistance Program (EAP) Intake Site services. The goal is to assist low-income and senior populations of Nevada with completing applications for home energy costs through the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program. The EAP aims to reduce the energy burden on eligible households by providing a one-time annual benefit, typically paid directly to their utility vendor.

Work Details

The Contractor will assist individuals in completing EAP applications accurately, ensuring all family circumstances are recorded. Responsibilities include reviewing applications for eligibility, counseling clients on community resources if they do not qualify, collecting required documentation, and submitting completed applications with necessary verifications to designated DSS offices. The Contractor must use the Completed Application Checklist and submit an Intake Site Log Form when applying for compensation. Compensation of $10 will be provided for each fully completed application packet submitted within required time frames. Incomplete applications will not receive compensation.

Period of Performance

The contract is intended to last for a four-year period beginning upon Board of Examiners’ approval.

Place of Performance

Services will be performed at various community-based intake sites across Nevada.

Bidder Requirements

Vendors must be appropriately licensed by the State of Nevada Secretary of State’s Office prior to submitting a proposal. They must also provide a Certificate of Insurance and their Nevada Business License Number as part of their proposal.
