Background The Department of State Hospitals - Atascadero is seeking bids for maintenance, testing, and repair services for Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) and High-Pressure Breathing Air Compressors. The goal of this contract is to ensure the safety and operational readiness of the DSH Fire Department's equipment in compliance with relevant safety standards. Work Details The contractor will provide all necessary materials, supplies, tools, equipment, transportation, licenses, certifications, permits, insurance, personnel, and any other items necessary to deliver the following services: 1. Hydrostatic testing of bottles; 2. Annual flow tests for Mine Safety Appliance (MSA) packs; 3. Portable air supply testing; 4. Annual fit testing of MSA masks; 5. Annual servicing of the Mini-Unicus High-Pressure Breathing Air Compressor; 6. Provision of 90-day air sampling test kits for the Mini-Unicus compressor and training DSH Fire Department staff on their use; 7. Repairs on equipment as needed after obtaining required approvals. Period of Performance The anticipated term of the agreement is from July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2029. Place of Performance Services will be performed at the Department of State Hospitals - Atascadero located in Atascadero, California. Bidder Requirements Bidders must certify they have a license to do business in California and are in good standing with the California Secretary of State. They must also provide proof that their technicians are MSA Certified to perform required services. Additionally, bidders must comply with security provisions when performing work on state hospital grounds.
