Background The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) is seeking to rehabilitate the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Office (FWCO) building located at the White Sulphur Springs National Fish Hatchery in West Virginia. The building, originally constructed in 1904, has experienced various renovations, including a roof replacement less than 10 years ago. The primary goal of this project is to eliminate active water leakage around the chimneys, improve the durability and weather resistance of the exterior envelope, and enhance its overall appearance. Work Details The scope of work includes: - Removal of two center chimneys down to the roof sheathing level and complete removal of the membrane roofing section including copper edging. - Removal of the northeast chimney down to ground level porch decking. - Removal of all existing vent covers, siding, trim, downspouts, and associated materials necessary for siding replacement. - Replacement of all siding on the entire building with new materials. - Evaluation and mitigation of any water damage during the project, particularly in areas affected by the northeast chimney. The contractor is responsible for all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, material deliveries, debris removal, and disposal. Period of Performance The anticipated performance period is from May 1, 2026 to July 31, 2026.
