Ion Chromatograph System to analyze Hexavalent Chromium

Summary (Newest Update)

Background The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is issuing a solicitation for the procurement of an Ion Chromatograph System to analyze Hexavalent Chromium. This system is essential for the EPA Region 7 Science and Technology Center to conduct analyses in accordance with EPA Method 218.6 and SW-846 methods 7199 & 3060a, which are critical for environmental monitoring and compliance. Work Details The contract requires the vendor to provide a complete Ion Chromatography system (IC), including software and an autosampler, specifically designed for the analysis of hexavalent chromium. The system must meet the following specifications: - **General Specifications**: - Designed for analysis according to EPA Method 218.6 and SW-846 Method 7199. - Must be a new, current production model (not refurbished or previously used). - Includes an autosampler, pump/flow unit, guard & analytical columns, post-column reactor, detector, and software. - Initial installation and training must be provided by the vendor. - **Hexavalent Chromium Ion Chromatograph Specifications**: - UV Detector at 530nm. - Metal-free complete system flow path that is pre-installed. - Guard column with sorbent capable of removing strongly absorbing organics and particles. - High-capacity anion exchange resin separator column capable of resolving CrO42- from other sample constituents. - Post-column reactor compatible with flows from 0 to 2 mL/min. - Pump head with variable flow rates from 0.001 to 20 mL/min, with maximum deviation of 0.1% from set value. - Leak-detection and auto shutdown capabilities in case of a leak. - Autosampler holding at least 50 test tubes with a rinse station. - Helium-pressurized Eluent bottles with associated tubing and connections. - **Software Specifications**: - Must comply with electronic records control requirements of 21 CFR part 11. Place of Performance Deliverable items are to be shipped to EPA Region 7 Science and Technology Center located at 300 Minnesota Avenue, Kansas City, KS 66101.
