Argonne National Laboratory

Argonne National Laboratory is soliciting quotations from qualified contractors to provide non-destructive concrete and masonry scanning services on an as-needed basis. *THIS RFQ WILL BE EVALUATED BASED ON LOWEST PRICE, TECHNICALLY ACCEPTABLE METHODOLOGY*

SCOPE

The contractor shall perform scanning using Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) and, when necessary, complementary detection technologies to identify embedded elements in substrates including: - Cast-in-place concrete slabs (on grade and elevated) - Concrete walls, beams, columns, and decks - Concrete masonry units (CMU) - Precast concrete elements - Structural toppings and overlays Embedded items may include: - Reinforcing steel - Post-tension cables - Electrical conduits - Mechanical piping - Embedded anchors or plates - Detectable voids or anomalies PURPOSE Scanning services are required to reduce risk prior to blind penetrations such as drilling, coring, cutting, anchoring, or demolition, and to support safe construction and maintenance activities. REQUIREMENTS The contractor shall: - Provide trained and experienced technicians and appropriate equipment - Use GPR and complementary detection methods as needed - Clearly define scanning limits before mobilization - Mark detected items on surfaces using approved temporary methods - Provide documentation including field sketches, photographs, annotated drawings, and summary reports - Perform work without damaging existing structures or finishes - Provide digital deliverables when requested - Comply with all applicable Argonne, OSHA, ESH, and DOE safety requirements, including permits, escorts, and restricted area coordination SCHEDULING Services will be performed on an as-needed basis in support of construction, maintenance, inspections, and modification activities. Work will be coordinated with the Argonne technical representative. Short-notice or emergency requests may be required.

BASIS FOR AWARD

Award will be made on a Lowest Price, Technically Acceptable (LPTA) basis. Please include the following in your proposal package: - A signed copy of the ANL-70 RFQ document - A fully executed copy of the ANL-70A Reps & Certs document *Please forward any questions to the contracting officer no later than 1700 CST Wednesday, March 18th.*
