Background The USDA Forest Service is issuing this solicitation for the Placerville District Storm Damage Road Repairs project, which aims to restore and repair road infrastructure affected by the 2023 storms in the Eldorado National Forest, located in Eldorado County, California. The project is part of the agency's mission to maintain and improve forest roads for public access and safety. Work Details The contractor will be responsible for a variety of construction tasks including: clearing and grubbing vegetation within the existing road prism; constructing drainage features such as rolling dips, armored dips, type I and type II rock fords; constructing armored ditches; embankment construction; armoring of fill slopes; roadway reconditioning; placing aggregate base; full depth reclamation; chip seal overlay; and installation of culverts of various sizes. The contractor must also restore the drainage function of the road by cleaning ditches, culvert inlets and outlets, shaping, compacting, and finishing for proper drainage. All work must comply with federal, state, municipal laws, codes, and regulations applicable to the performance of the work. Additionally, all off-road equipment used on this project must be cleaned before entering the project area to prevent contamination from noxious weeds. Period of Performance The estimated period of performance for this contract is from May 14, 2026 to November 9, 2027. Place of Performance The construction projects will be performed in Eldorado County, California within the Eldorado National Forest.
