Background The County of San Diego is seeking quotes from firms to provide Analytical Balance Calibration Services for the Sheriff's Office. The goal of this contract is to ensure that approximately twenty-six (26) balances are calibrated in accordance with ISO 17025 standards. This includes providing certificates of calibration that are traceable to NIST standards. The County aims to maintain the accuracy and reliability of its analytical equipment used in various operations. Work Details The contractor shall perform ISO 17025 accredited calibration services for approximately twenty-six (26) balances, including thirteen (13) with measurement uncertainty requirements. Specific tasks include: 1. Providing an ISO 17025 certificate of calibration for each balance, including measurement data, standards used, measurements as found and left, confidence level, coverage factor, shift test error, and expanded uncertainty. 2. Ensuring all calibrations comply with ISO 17025 requirements and are traceable to NIST standards. 3. Completing all work annually in February and delivering calibration certificates prior to the expiration of current certificates. 4. Providing documentation of technician qualifications upon request by County staff. 5. Furnishing labor, materials, and equipment necessary for calibration services while adhering to local, state, and federal codes. Period of Performance The initial term of the contract will begin on the date of award and end on March 31, 2027, with four (4) one-year option periods available for extension until March 31, 2031. Place of Performance Services will be performed at the Sheriff's Regional Crime Lab located at 5590 Overland Avenue, San Diego, CA 92123. Bidder Requirements Offerors must have ISO 17025 accreditation in the field of balance calibration and employ technicians with relevant knowledge and experience. They must also provide a DNA sample for quality control purposes upon request. Compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations is required.
