This Request for Information (RFI) is issued for information and planning purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation nor does it restrict the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) as to the ultimate acquisition approach. VA's Office of Information & Technology (OIT), Connectivity & Collaboration Services (CCS) has a requirement to provide a like-for-like transition of existing contracted Co-located Hosting Services (CHS) for VA's Gateway North and East locations. Background The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is seeking information for a requirement under its Office of Information & Technology (OIT), specifically within the Connectivity & Collaboration Services (CCS) division. The goal is to facilitate a like-for-like transition of existing contracted Co-located Hosting Services (CHS) for VA’s Gateway North and East locations, ensuring continuity and potential upgrades of services as necessary. Work Details The contractor will be responsible for providing facilities for data centers populated by Government Furnished Equipment (GFE), including servers, routers, and load balancers. The contractor must ensure that all housed equipment is fully operational by providing necessary personnel, transportation, equipment, tools, materials, supplies, installation, management, supervision, engineering, maintenance, testing, and services. Key tasks include: - Transitioning existing services to like-for-like technologies. - Upgrading services that have reached end-of-life with like-for-similar replacements. - Maintaining current legacy services during the initial transition. - Providing qualified staff proficient in central office/data center engineering and maintenance. - Adhering to TIA-942-B Rated 3 Site Selection criteria for data center locations. - Ensuring compliance with various standards including TIA-942 Telecommunications Infrastructure Standard for Data Centers and ISO27001 Information Security. Place of Performance The contract will be performed at data center locations within 30 miles of Sterling, VA and Chicago, IL. Additional requirements specify that the data centers must be located outside hurricane and tornado zones and at least 2 miles from any airport.
