Background The Tennessee Valley Healthcare System (TVHS) is issuing a Request for Quote (RFQ) to provide Firestop Repair Services at the Nashville VA Medical Center. This initiative is part of their commitment to maintaining safety standards within their facilities and is set aside 100% for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSBs). The goal of this contract is to ensure compliance with fire safety regulations by repairing firestop systems in rated barriers throughout the facility. Work Details The contractor will perform Fire Stop Installation and Penetration Repair services, which include: - Repairing all rated walls and locations as identified in through-penetration surveys. - Installing Underwriting Laboratory (UL) Approved Firestop Systems in deficiencies located in fire-rated barriers, including through-the-wall penetrations, membrane penetrations, construction joints, floor penetrations, ceiling penetrations, and installation of drywall where missing. - Ensuring installations meet ASTM E 814, UL 1479 or UL 2079 standards. - Labeling all repaired systems with stickers indicating the UL System installed, date of installation, and initials of the installer. - Providing 'Before' and 'After' photographs of each installation. - Adhering to infection control procedures during work to limit dust and debris spread. Exclusions from the scope include mechanical, electrical, plumbing work, heavy carpentry tasks, and any necessary concrete work for access facilitation. Period of Performance The period of performance for this contract is 150 days from the date of award. Place of Performance The construction projects will be performed at the Nashville VA Medical Center located in Nashville, TN.
