Background The National Park Service (NPS) is seeking to procure janitorial services for the Fort Sumter Liberty Square Visitor Education Center located in Charleston, South Carolina. The goal of this contract is to maintain a safe, sanitary, environmentally protective, and aesthetically pleasing environment for visitors and employees at the facility. This solicitation is part of the NPS's mission to provide quality visitor experiences at national parks. Work Details The contractor will provide all labor, supervision, supplies, materials, and equipment necessary to perform janitorial services as outlined in the Performance Work Statement (PWS). Key tasks include: 1. Trash Removal and Recycling: Regularly check and empty interior and exterior trash containers; ensure recycling containers are emptied when full or upon request. 2. Restroom Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness and stock supplies in visitor and employee restrooms; perform thorough cleaning including sinks, toilets, and floors. 3. General Cleaning: Perform daily cleaning of all public areas including entrances, ticket booths, bookstores, ranger offices, and exhibit areas. 4. Heavy Cleaning: Schedule periodic heavy cleaning after hours as needed. 5. Quality Assurance: Follow a Quality Assurance Surveillance Plan (QASP) to monitor performance. Period of Performance The period of performance for this contract is from August 1, 2026, to July 31, 2027, with two option years extending through July 31, 2029. Place of Performance The services will be performed at the Fort Sumter Visitor Education Center at Liberty Square Terminal located at 340 Concord Street, Charleston, South Carolina.
