Background The Army Contracting Command - Rock Island (ACC-RI), on behalf of the Air Force Civil Engineer Center (AFCEC) and U.S. Space Command (USSPACECOM), is initiating a project to construct a new, permanent warfighting Headquarters Command and Control Facility (C2F) on Redstone Arsenal, Alabama. This facility is critical to support USSPACECOM's national security mission and will be designed to accommodate approximately 1800 personnel. The project aims to establish a secure and technologically advanced operations center with stringent security features. Work Details The construction tasks will include the design and building of an operational HQ facility with an estimated total square footage of 700,000 SF. Key components of the facility will consist of a Visitor Control Center, vehicle inspection area, and secure data center. The contractor must demonstrate expertise in: - Design and construction of technology-driven operations centers - Resilient and redundant infrastructure - Integrated information technology (IT) systems - Compliance with secure space standards (ICD 705) - High-Altitude Electromagnetic Pulse (HEMP) hardening - Radio Frequency (RF) Shielding. The project will utilize a progressive design-build delivery method following best practices from the Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA). Place of Performance The construction projects will be performed at Redstone Arsenal, located in Huntsville, Alabama.
