Background The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) is conducting market research to identify potential sources capable of providing engineering services for the Special Operations Forces (SOF) C-130 Program Office. The goal of this Request for Information (RFI) is to find sources that can design a refreshed hardware system for the Lightweight Airborne Recovery System (LARS) used on the HC-130J and MC-130J aircraft. This RFI is solely for market research purposes and does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP). Work Details The contractor must provide a design for a refreshed hardware system for the LARS, which shall be a Form-Fit-Function (FFF) replacement of existing hardware components. The specific components to be analyzed include: - Control Display Unit (CDU): 282950-1 - Direction Finding Antenna (DF): 282810-1/282620-1 - Receiver Transmitter Assembly (RT): 282650-3/282550-1. The contractor is responsible for furnishing all materials and services necessary to complete this task, including providing, utilizing, and maintaining all required equipment and software at their facility or a subcontractor’s facility.
