Background The Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) is responsible for the full life-cycle support of fiber optic networking for the U.S. Navy. This contract aims to enhance technical capabilities, support ship construction across all classes of Navy warships, and ensure operations and maintenance of existing fiber optic cable systems and plants. The contractor will serve as the Technical Direction Agent (TDA) and System Integration Agent (SIA) for various naval vessels, including ARLEIGH BURKE class destroyers and FORD class aircraft carriers. Work Details The contractor shall provide services and products in the following areas: - Engineering Support - Platform Engineering and Support - General Documentation and Technician Support - Repair Response Support - Project Management & Administrative Support - Integrated Logistician Support. Specific tasks include coordinating with Navy Shipyards for fiber optic configuration management, developing metrics for tracking deficiencies, fabricating and repairing fiber optic components, providing laboratory support for optical testing, managing inventory of tools and materials, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, organizing training sessions, updating documentation related to fiber optics, and maintaining knowledge of applicable logistics tools. Place of Performance The work will primarily take place at the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) and may extend to various Navy platforms as required.
