Summary (Newest Update)

Background The General Services Administration (GSA) is responsible for acquiring support and administrative workspace for the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) that must be located on airport property. The TSA was established by Public Law 107-71 and is tasked with ensuring the security of civil aviation, including screening operations for passenger air transportation across the United States and its territories. The TSA requires workspace at every airport with scheduled commercial airline service. Work Details This justification applies to all TSA continuing need requirements for support and administrative workspace, which includes office, break, training, and storage space that must be on airport property. Currently, there are 441 locations under lease, with each location averaging approximately 3,000 square feet. The justification allows for limited competition when services are available from only one responsible source. Market surveys will be conducted as the need for space arises to determine availability and solicit proposals accordingly. Place of Performance The contract will be performed at various airport properties across the United States and its possessions and territories.
