Background This contract is issued by the Directorate of Public Works (DPW) for the Sustainment, Restoration, and Modernization (SRM) of the USDB Textiles Warehouse located at 1251 USDB Road, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. The goal of this contract is to enhance the functionality and safety of the warehouse through various construction projects, requiring a general contractor with significant experience in managing multiple task orders simultaneously. Work Details The contractor will be responsible for a range of construction tasks including: - Addition of an approximate 1,280 SF metal building office addition and a new recessed truck dock. - Repair or replacement of mechanical, electrical, and fire protection systems. - Renovation or demolition work on existing structures. - Interior remodeling tasks such as carpentry, painting, and installation of floor and wall coverings. - Modifications to the existing fire sprinkler system to comply with UFC-3-600-01 and NFPA 13 codes. - Relocation and reprogramming of smoke and fire detectors as per applicable codes. - Miscellaneous architectural, plumbing, and electrical modifications as necessary. The contractor must also ensure compliance with safety standards set by OSHA and provide a site-specific safety plan.
