Background The National Park Service (NPS), Alaska Regional Office, is issuing this solicitation for the replacement of the emergency lighting system at the historic Russian Bishop's House, located in Sitka National Historical Park. The current system, installed in 2002, has reached the end of its expected life cycle and requires replacement to ensure safety for visitors and employees. The goal of this contract is to provide a fully operational emergency lighting system that meets life/safety codes for the next 15-20 years. Work Details The contractor shall provide all necessary labor, materials, and equipment to complete the following tasks: - Remove and dispose of four existing lead acid batteries that supply backup power to the system. - Remove and dispose of existing controller components (the metal wall-mount controller enclosure will remain). - Furnish and install a new inverter in the existing controller enclosure, specifically an IOTA IIS 125 HE SM inverter with a 12V maintenance-free Valve Regulated Lead Acid (VRLA) battery or an approved equal. - Remove and dispose of eighteen halogen remote heads and replace them with JUNO R600L G2 Series 10W LED remote heads or an approved equal, distributed as follows: 1 in the basement, 5 in the crawlspace, 5 on the first floor, 4 on the second floor, and 3 in the attic. - Ensure that the new system and related components operate as designed. - Provide a basic tutorial to Park maintenance employees on system operations and maintenance. - Provide product warranties to the Park. Period of Performance The period of performance for this contract is from April 7, 2026, to July 5, 2026. All work must be completed no later than 90 days after award. Place of Performance The construction projects will be performed at the Russian Bishop's House located at Lincoln and Monastery Street, Sitka, AK 99835.
