Background The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) is issuing this solicitation for janitorial services at the DeSoto National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center. The mission of the FWS is to conserve, protect, and enhance fish, wildlife, and plants and their habitats for the continuing benefit of the American people. The goal of this contract is to maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the Visitor Center, which serves both public and office areas. Work Details The contractor will provide janitorial services for weekly cleaning of approximately 12,000 square feet at the Visitor Center, including the auditorium, exhibit areas, hallways, individual offices, break room, four restrooms, and an all-purpose meeting room. Specific tasks include: - Vacuuming all carpeted areas - Cleaning entryway windows and doors - Spot cleaning all interior windows/glass - Sweeping and mopping all non-carpeted floors - Dusting all ledges, furniture, woodwork, baseboards, and displays. The contractor must ensure that no dirt or dust is left in corners or under furniture. Access to restricted areas such as the Bertrand Cargo Area and Lab is prohibited for cleaning personnel. Period of Performance The base period of performance is from April 6, 2026 to April 5, 2027. There are up to four option periods that may be exercised based on funding availability.
