Description
Primary Latest Change

The purpose of this RFI is to conduct market research to identify qualified vendors with mature technical solutions and resources to develop and produce a Global Positioning System (GPS) Increment 2 Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) M-code receiver for JASSM.

Summary (Newest Update)

Background The Request for Information (RFI) is issued by the United States Air Force, specifically the Air Force Materiel Command and the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC). The goal of this RFI is to conduct market research to identify qualified vendors with mature technical solutions and resources to develop and produce a Global Positioning System (GPS) Increment 2 Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) M-code receiver for the Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missile (JASSM). The JASSM is a long-range standoff missile developed by Lockheed Martin-Missiles and Fire Control, designed for attacking fixed and relocatable high-value targets, integrated on various Air Force and Navy aircraft platforms. Work Details The RFI seeks information on the development and production of a GPS Increment 2 GNSS M-code receiver suitable for integration into JASSM. Key requirements include: - Technical approach for a GPS Increment 2 GNSS M-code receiver. - Open, non-proprietary, standardized electrical and physical interfaces are encouraged. - Existing programs leveraged, current Technology Readiness Level (TRL), and Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) must be identified. The design should be at or above TRL/MRL 5 applicable to U.S. DoD tactical missiles or bombs. - Status of Increment 2 M-code ASIC certification with the GPS Directorate Security Team, including schedules if pending. - A notional low-risk development and integration schedule starting at contract award, identifying major program events such as SRR, PDR, CDR, qualification testing, flight testing, production readiness review, and delivery to the JASSM production line. - Existing digital engineering tools and environments currently in use must be described along with planned collaboration with the JASSM prime contractor. Place of Performance Responses will be evaluated by government personnel at Eglin AFB.
