Background The Indian Health Service (IHS) is issuing this contract to provide Medical Technologist services to the Pine Ridge Service Unit (PRSU) Hospital. The goal is to ensure continuous, accurate, and timely clinical laboratory support services that enable safe and effective patient care across the Pine Ridge IHS Hospital and Outlying Health Centers. The contract aims to deliver full-scope, quality laboratory services to patients of the Oglala Sioux Tribe. Work Details The contractor will provide a minimum of one (1) and a maximum of ten (10) Medical Technologists or Medical Laboratory Technicians skilled in general laboratory medicine (moderate & high complexity). Key tasks include: - Accurate and timely specimen processing, ensuring specimens are collected, labeled, processed, and transported in accordance with diagnostic timelines. - Reliable test performance and result entry with 98% accuracy for results entered into electronic health records. - Continuous staffing coverage to maintain laboratory operations with qualified personnel. - Compliance with safety and regulatory standards, including infection control and facility safety protocols. - Professional conduct and communication among personnel, adhering to high standards of confidentiality. Period of Performance The contract consists of a base period of 12 weeks followed by seventeen option periods consisting of eight-week option periods. The base period requires 5,400 service hours, while each option period requires 3,600 service hours. Place of Performance The services will be performed at the Pine Ridge IHS Hospital located at 607 Indian Health Road, Pine Ridge, South Dakota.
