Background The Alaska VA Healthcare System (AVAHS) is seeking to establish a contract for snow removal and grounds maintenance services. This requirement is part of a comprehensive program aimed at ensuring safe access to its facilities during inclement weather and maintaining the grounds during warmer months. The contractor will be responsible for providing these services across multiple AVAHS properties in Anchorage, Alaska. Work Details The contractor shall provide snow removal and grounds maintenance services at five designated AVAHS properties. Services include: 1. Snow removal from roadways, parking areas, walkways, and stairs using methods that do not harm surfaces. 2. Application of sand, salt, or other materials to ensure safe passage for pedestrians and vehicles. 3. Removal of snow piles within seven days after snowfall. 4. Initiation of snow plowing within two hours of accumulation reaching 1.5 inches or upon notification by the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR). 5. Maintenance of clear access to fire hydrants and fire lanes. 6. Conducting clean sweeps to remove excessive buildup of sand and debris as required. Period of Performance Base Year: April 1, 2026 - March 31, 2027; Option Year 1: April 1, 2027 - March 31, 2028; Option Year 2: April 1, 2028 - March 31, 2029; Option Year 3: April 1, 2029 - March 31, 2030; Option Year 4: April 1, 2030 - February 28, 2031. Place of Performance Anchorage, Alaska at the following locations: Muldoon Facility (1201 North Muldoon), Domiciliary (3001 C Street), Transitional Housing Residences (709 N Hoyt Street), and two additional addresses on East 12th Avenue.
