Background The Pendills Creek National Fish Hatchery (NFH) produces 1 million lake trout yearlings annually for the Great Lakes. To accomplish this, an ULTRAQUA UV-system (MR50-350PP Open channel) was installed to purify 4,000 gallons per minute of creek water that feeds the hatchery. The system was designed and built in Denmark and requires 50 UV bulbs. The bulbs have a 16,000-hour life expectancy and must be replaced periodically to maintain efficacy. The health and welfare of the fish depend on a clean water supply free of disease-causing microbes, especially during the delicate fry stage. Work Details The contract involves the procurement and delivery of 50 units of Low Pressure UV Lamps - ULTRATHERM 350W Longlife HOXL G3, brand name or equal, for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service/Pendills Creek National Fish Hatchery located in Brimley, MI.
