Background The United States Department of Agriculture, Forest Service, Region 2, is issuing this contract for improvements to the existing water treatment facility at the Monument Fire Center located in Monument, Colorado. The facility is crucial as it supplies potable drinking water to the fire center staff, which includes national assets that respond to wildfires. Due to the presence of soluble lead in the well water, Optimal Corrosion Control Treatment (OCCT) is required to comply with Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) regulations. Work Details The contractor will be responsible for supplying all labor, materials, equipment, utilities, and miscellaneous items necessary for the installation of water treatment facility equipment. Key tasks include: - Mobilization, project management, and quality control; - Installing new and relocated treatment process equipment such as filter housings, baffle tanks, chemical feed pumps, and associated monitoring instrumentation; - Installation of electrical wiring, HVAC systems, piping; - Demolition of the existing water treatment building after relocating components; - Ensuring compliance with construction quality control measures; - Providing temporary toilet facilities on-site during construction; - Initiating a trash abatement program for proper disposal of construction refuse weekly; - Observing excavation activities by Forest Service Heritage staff during utility excavations. Period of Performance The contract work is expected to commence upon award and continue until approximately September 30, 2026.
