Note that this is NOT a request for quotes or proposals; the 55th Contracting Squadron, Offutt Air Force Base, NE, is seeking information for market research purposes only for the following items listed below: The government intends to award a contract to Carahsoft Technology Corporation for the requirement of VMWare Cloud Foundations, as required on DOW ESI https://www.esi.mil/. This sources sought is being posted in support of an "Other than full and open competition" justification in accordance with FAR 6.103-1. If offerors have an alternative source that can meet the same capabilities as VMWare Cloud Foundation, Product ID VCF-CLD-FND, and the product is able to communicate appropriately with other products on this software, please submit a capabilities statement with technical data supporting the alternative offering to jake.freligh@us.af.mil and jacob.davis.56@us.af.mil prior to 30 March 2026 at 11 AM CDT. The NAICS for this product will be 541519 and PSC DA01. If you believe this incorrect, please feel free to let me know what NAICS/PSC better fits the criteria. IF A SOLICITATION IS ISSUED IT WILL BE ANNOUNCED AT A LATER DATE, and all interested parties must respond to that solicitation announcement separately from the responses to this announcement. Background The 55th Contracting Squadron at Offutt Air Force Base, NE, is conducting market research for the procurement of VMWare Cloud Foundation software. This effort is part of an 'Other than full and open competition' justification. The government intends to award a contract to Carahsoft Technology Corporation but is open to alternative sources that can provide equivalent capabilities. Work Details The contract will encompass the following tasks and services: 1. PROJECT OVERVIEW: The purpose is to sustain the current software provided by Broadcom (VMWare Cloud Foundation) for Network Virtual Environment, specifically for 702 Core Licenses for Virtual Data Center services supporting the 55th Wing. 2. SCOPE OF NEED: - Virtual Datacenter Infrastructure Software Licenses: Provide software licenses and 24/7 telephone support for virtual datacenter infrastructure. - Software Procurement: Ensure all necessary software components are provided, maintaining compatibility, security, and long-term support. Utilize the DoD ESI program where possible to maximize future cost efficiencies while leveraging DoD buying power. 3. SUPPORT AND MAINTENANCE: - Support Services: Ongoing support and escalation procedures must be provided by the software manufacturer. - Maintenance Services: Proactive maintenance, security updates, and patches must be provided at no additional cost to the government.
