Background The Chinle Comprehensive Healthcare Facility, part of the Navajo Area Indian Health Service (IHS), is seeking to procure Emergency Medicine Physician Nonpersonal Services. The IHS is a federal agency within the Department of Health and Human Services that provides healthcare services to American Indians and Alaska Natives. The goal of the IHS is to enhance the health status of these populations through comprehensive healthcare delivery. The Chinle Comprehensive Health Care Facility serves approximately 35,000 Navajo individuals in a rural area, providing a range of medical services including emergency medicine. Work Details The contractor will provide emergency medicine physician services at the Chinle Comprehensive Health Care Facility (CCHCF) and other healthcare facilities within the Navajo IHS Areas. Responsibilities include: - Providing emergency medical services to IHS patients. - Ensuring candidates meet specific qualifications: ABEM/AOBEM certification, completion of US residency in Emergency Medicine, no loss or suspension of licensure, no history of drug abuse, and a valid unrestricted DEA registration. - Maintaining documentation and compliance with established policies and procedures. - Delivering culturally sensitive care to patients, many of whom may speak only Navajo and adhere to traditional practices. Place of Performance Services will be performed primarily at the Chinle Comprehensive Health Care Facility Emergency Room and other hospitals, clinics, and healthcare facilities within the Navajo IHS Areas.
