Background The United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Rock Island District, is seeking a contractor to perform essential road maintenance services at the Thomson Causeway Recreation Area. The goal of this contract is to repave River Birch Road leading to the River Birch Campground, ensuring safe and accessible routes for visitors. Work Details The scope of work includes: milling approximately 4 inches of existing asphalt pavement, stockpiling the millings, stripping sod and topsoil, excavating subgrade, placing and compacting asphalt millings, placing and compacting aggregate base, constructing aggregate shoulders, placing riprap, and applying Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) pavement along with tack coat.
