Background The Department of Transportation has issued a requirement for the removal and installation of a fuel dispensing system at the Yocum Sailing Center, located at the United States Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, NY. This project aims to enhance the facility's operational capabilities while adhering to environmental and historical preservation standards. Work Details The contractor will be responsible for removing the existing fuel dispensing system, which includes two double-walled fiberglass underground storage tanks (USTs) with capacities of 2,500 gallons for gasoline and 6,000 gallons for diesel, two single product fuel dispensers, associated piping systems, and electrical systems. The contractor will then install a new fuel dispensing system that includes new USTs and dispensers located in designated areas. Specific tasks include: - Obtaining all necessary permits and regulatory inspections. - Engineering and drawing preparation. - Removal/abandonment of existing USTs and underground piping. - Demolition of existing dispensing equipment. - Repairing pier structures and surfaces related to existing damage. - Installation of new dual product dispensers and associated systems. - Ensuring compliance with environmental regulations throughout the project. Period of Performance The contract period is from April 24, 2026, to April 23, 2027. The project must be completed within 90 days after the notice to proceed is issued following the award. Place of Performance The work will be performed at the Yocum Sailing Center and adjacent upper parking lot at the United States Merchant Marine Academy, located at 300 Steamboat Road, Kings Point, NY 11024.
