Background The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) is issuing a solicitation for janitorial services at the Alaska Maritime National Wildlife Refuge, specifically for the Visitor Center & Headquarters located at 95 Sterling Highway, Homer, AK 99603, and a Bunkhouse situated on the 2nd floor of a local business at 509 Sterling Highway, Homer, AK 99603. The goal of this contract is to ensure cleanliness and maintenance of these facilities to support their operational needs. Work Details The contractor will be responsible for providing comprehensive janitorial services which include but are not limited to: cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, offices, public areas, and other designated spaces; emptying trash receptacles; vacuuming carpets; mopping floors; dusting surfaces; and ensuring that all cleaning supplies are environmentally friendly and comply with sustainable practices as outlined in the Statement of Work (SOW). The contractor must provide evidence of an employee with cleaning experience in the Homer area who can start work immediately, as well as a second local employee available to cover in case of absence. The contractor is also required to adhere to sustainable procurement guidelines as specified by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Place of Performance The services will be performed at two locations in Homer, Alaska: the Alaska Maritime National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center & Headquarters at 95 Sterling Highway and the Bunkhouse at 509 Sterling Highway.
