Background The City of Charlotte is issuing this solicitation for the Robinson Church Rd Sidewalk project, which is part of the Strategic Investment Area (SIA) initiative within the Harrisburg corridor. The goal of this project is to enhance infrastructure by installing new curb and gutter and sidewalk along Robinson Church Road, from Brawley Lane to Jones Creek Lane. This initiative aims to promote diversity, inclusion, and local business opportunities for Minority-owned, Women-owned, and Small Business Enterprises (MWSBEs) in the City’s contracting process. Work Details The work consists of the installation of new curb and gutter and sidewalk along Robinson Church Road, from Brawley Lane to Jones Creek Lane. The contractor is responsible for providing a turnkey project as indicated in the drawings and specifications included within the bid documents. The contractor must field verify all existing conditions that may affect design and layout prior to preparation of submittals. Compliance with all local, state, and national codes and regulations, including ADA requirements, is mandatory. The contractor must be properly licensed in North Carolina. Period of Performance The contract period is 150 calendar days from the date of award. Place of Performance The work will be performed along Robinson Church Road in Charlotte, North Carolina. Bidder Requirements Bidders must be properly licensed under North Carolina state law to perform the work. A 5% bid security is required with each bid that equals or exceeds $300,000. The estimated cost of this project is between $250,000 - $499,999. Bidders are encouraged to include participation from certified MWSBEs as part of their proposal.
