SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory is operated by Stanford University for the Department of Energy. As a management and operating contractor, subcontracts awarded by the Laboratory are not Federal procurements, and are not directly subject to the Federal Acquisition Regulations in 48 CFR. Nonetheless, certain Federal laws, Executive Orders, and regulations may affect our DOE approved purchasing system, as required by statute, regulation, or contract terms and conditions. SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory invites interested vendors to submit a proposal in accordance with the attached RFP preparation requirements for LCLS-II-HE Collimator Vacuum Chambers. Any clarification requests are due by Tuesday, March 170, 2026. Your full proposal must be received no later than Tuesday, March 24, 2026, 5pm PDT and be valid for 90 days after submission. Background The SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory, operated by Stanford University for the Department of Energy, is seeking proposals for the fabrication and production of four different types of Vacuum Chambers for the LCLS-II-HE Collimators. This procurement is not a federal procurement and is not directly subject to Federal Acquisition Regulations, but must comply with certain federal laws and regulations. The goal of this contract is to ensure the delivery of high-quality vacuum chambers that meet specific technical requirements. Work Details The contractor will be responsible for the following tasks: 1. Fabrication and production of four types of vacuum chambers: - DSG-000105293 (PC1L1 Vacuum Chamber) - 1 unit - DSG-000100582 (PC1L0 Vacuum Chamber) - 1 unit - DSG-000099431 (CHAMBER, HE COLIM 6.0CF) - 4 units - DSG-000095996 (CHAMBER, HE COLIM 4.5CF) - 2 units 2. Each vacuum chamber must be assembled, inspected, baked at 250°C for a minimum of 48 hours, leak tested, and subjected to Residual Gas Analysis (RGA) to ensure compliance with SLAC vacuum requirements before shipping. 3. The chambers must be cleaned using methods compatible with ultra-high vacuum environments prior to welding, assembly, and testing. 4. The contractor must provide documentation including inspection reports, certifications, and test results prior to shipment. 5. Non-conformance reporting and corrective action plans must be established for any discrepancies found during inspections. Period of Performance The work is expected to be completed within 20 weeks after the award of the contract. Place of Performance The contract will be performed at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory located at 2575 Sand Hill Road, Menlo Park, California.
