Background The Department of Public Safety of the State of New Mexico is seeking to contract with Life Technologies Corporation for preventive maintenance and repair services for critical forensic laboratory equipment. The goal of this contract is to ensure the proper functioning and reliability of essential instruments used in DNA testing, which are vital for criminal investigations and court proceedings. Work Details The contractor will provide preventive maintenance and repair services for the following instruments located at the DPS Forensic Laboratory: - 7500 Real-Time PCR System - 3500 Genetic Analyzer - Veriti Thermal Cycler These instruments are used for amplifying, quantifying, and analyzing DNA samples. The services include: - Regular maintenance to ensure instruments are in good working order as per FBI Quality Assurance Standards for Forensic DNA Testing Laboratories. - Access to proprietary software and factory-level diagnostics necessary for servicing these instruments. - Use of certified and authorized service technicians who maintain high integrity and validity of DNA testing results. Period of Performance The term of the prospective contract is 4 years. Place of Performance Services will be performed at the DPS Forensic Laboratory located in New Mexico.
