Summary

The USDA Forest Service, Tonto National Forest, intends to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for commercial services to perform cultural resource survey services in support of Section 106 compliance requirements.

Scope of Work

The Contractor shall provide all labor, supervision, equipment, materials, and incidentals necessary to perform professional archaeological and cultural resource services, including but not limited to: - Intensive pedestrian archaeological survey - Cultural resource identification and site recording - GIS data collection and spatial documentation - National Register eligibility evaluations - Technical reporting and documentation compliant with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act - Preparation of final reports and site forms consistent with Forest Service standards Work will be performed within the boundaries of the Tonto National Forest, Arizona. Set-Aside This requirement is a Total Small Business Set-Aside. Offerors must be registered and active in the System for Award Management (SAM) at the time of submission.

Background The USDA Forest Service, Tonto National Forest, is issuing a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for commercial services to perform cultural resource survey services in support of Section 106 compliance requirements. The goal of this contract is to ensure that cultural resources are properly identified and documented in accordance with federal regulations, specifically the National Historic Preservation Act. Work Details The Contractor shall provide all labor, supervision, equipment, materials, and incidentals necessary to perform professional archaeological and cultural resource services. This includes: - Intensive pedestrian archaeological survey; - Cultural resource identification and site recording; - GIS data collection and spatial documentation; - National Register eligibility evaluations; - Technical reporting and documentation compliant with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act; - Preparation of final reports and site forms consistent with Forest Service standards. The contractor will conduct intensive pedestrian cultural resource surveys over an area of 2,747 acres within the Tonto National Forest. They will assess National Register eligibility for all sites recorded in the project area, record previously identified and newly identified sites, revisit previously recorded sites, complete appropriate site forms including eligibility determinations, and assess fire sensitivity as per USDA-Forest Service guidelines. Period of Performance The contract will be performed from March 23, 2026 to September 22, 2026. Place of Performance The work will be performed within the boundaries of the Tonto National Forest in Arizona.
