Background The United States Department of the Interior, specifically the National Park Service (NPS), is issuing a pre-solicitation for a contract focused on the inspection and testing of fire suppression and control equipment in facilities located within 12 National Parks across Alaska. The goal of this contract is to ensure compliance with fire safety standards and to maintain operational readiness of fire protection systems in these facilities. The anticipated solicitation aims to support the NPS's mission of preserving natural and cultural resources while ensuring visitor safety. Work Details The contractor will be responsible for annually inspecting and testing fire protection systems and related components in facilities located in 12 National Parks throughout Alaska. Key tasks include: - Producing initial report notes for multiple facilities in each park, indicating code deficiencies and failures for follow-on maintenance and repair contracts. - Delivering a final inspected/tested report that consolidates findings from all park facilities into a single document. - Adhering to the latest versions of relevant standards including NFPA 25, NFPA 72, UFC-3-601-02, UFC-4-021-01, and NPS RM-58. - Ensuring that specific licensing, certifications, training, and experience requirements are met by personnel involved in the inspections. This includes having technicians certified by manufacturers for fire alarm panels, at least three years of experience in similar inspection/testing activities, NICET Level II certification for at least one technician/inspector, and independent review of reports by a licensed Fire Protection Engineer. Period of Performance The base period is estimated from May 15, 2026, to December 31, 2026, with four option years extending through December 31, 2030. Place of Performance The contract work will be performed across 12 National Parks located in Alaska.
