The Prescott National Forest requires 1) the safety inspection of three bridges in accordance with the March 2022 Specifications for the National Bridge Inventory (SNBI) and all its references and 2) load ratings in accordance with AASHTOs Manual for Bridge Evaluation (MBE), 3rd ed., 2018. Background The Prescott National Forest, part of the USDA Forest Service, is seeking to conduct safety inspections and load ratings for three bridges as part of its infrastructure maintenance and safety assurance efforts. This solicitation aims to ensure compliance with the March 2022 Specifications for the National Bridge Inventory (SNBI) and AASHTO’s Manual for Bridge Evaluation (MBE), 3rd edition, 2018. Work Details The contractor will perform the following tasks: 1) Conduct safety inspections of three bridges in accordance with the March 2022 Specifications for the National Bridge Inventory (SNBI) and all its references. 2) Perform load ratings in accordance with AASHTO’s Manual for Bridge Evaluation (MBE), 3rd ed., 2018. The work includes providing a two-person inspection team with one qualified bridge inspector meeting the requirements of a Bridge Inspection Team Leader (BITL). The BITL must be present during field inspections and sign the inspection report. Inspections must include detailed reports on dimensions, conditions, deficiencies, and recommended repairs. The contractor must also utilize both destructive and non-destructive techniques to assess hidden reinforcement patterns in concrete slabs. Load ratings must be performed by or under the supervision of a registered Professional Engineer and reported along with all assumptions used in calculations. Period of Performance The period of performance is from April 3, 2026, to July 2, 2026, with work required to commence within 90 calendar days after receiving the signed award. Place of Performance The contract will be performed at various locations within the Prescott National Forest.
