Background The USDA Forest Service is issuing this contract for services related to the planting of government-furnished deciduous seedlings on the Wallowa-Whitman National Forests, specifically within the LaGrande Ranger District. The goal of this contract is to ensure compliance with the terms, specifications, and provisions outlined in the resultant contract while contributing to reforestation efforts in the area. Work Details The contractor will be responsible for the following tasks: 1. Hand planting deciduous seedlings with a 2' x 9,000 2' scalp, spaced 6' apart, within 300' of the stream corridor on both sides. This will occur in the Upper Fly Creek area during the work period from March 16, 2026, to April 30, 2026. 2. Hand planting additional deciduous seedlings with a similar specification (2' x 1,200) during a second work period from October 13, 2026, to October 30, 2026. 3. Planting of 1-gallon potted seedlings (2'x2') at a quantity of 5,000 with holes that can be hand dug or augured during the same October work period. An optional task includes planting an additional 2,500 potted seedlings under similar conditions during this timeframe. Period of Performance The contract will be performed from March 15, 2026, to November 15, 2026. Place of Performance All work will take place at the Wallowa-Whitman National Forests, LaGrande Ranger District located at USDA Forest Service, 3502 Highway 30, La Grande OR 97850.
