Posted: Feb. 11, 2026, 12:47 p.m. EST Project: Buffalo Creek Boiler Replacement POC: Erick Plamann, Contract Specialist, erick.plamann@usda.gov for the replacement of one boiler as outline in attachment 3 Statement of Work (SOW). A- Propane Gas-Fire Boiler - The work shall consist of supplying and installing (1) high efficiency propane gas-fired boiler approved equivalent to the Dunkirk Quantum 90, Q90-200, see attached specifications Attachment 05, at the Buffalo Creek Work Center. Work shall also include the furnishment/installation of any/all plumbing/electrical/expansion tanks/new solenoids/water lines/regulators/miscellaneous components needed for a successful installation. B- Backflow Preventer Replacement Replace one (1) Caleffi 573012A 1 2 573 Backflow Preventer and AutoFill Combination with Pressure Gauge, and one two-way ball valve. C. F- m Water Line Replacement Replace approximately 5 feet of 1 copper water line, approximately 6 feet of 3 4 copper water line, and approximately 3 feet of 1 2 copper waterline D-Electrical Panel Upgrade Convert the two (2) outdated electrical panels, located in the entry stairway and attic, respectively, with junction boxes and extend circuits to one (1) new electrical panel. Ensure all new work is appropriately grounded. F-Mold Remediation - Water damage mitigation of the boiler room. Includes temporary removal of plumbing system as necessary, tearing out contaminated plywood and wet insulation, cleaning stud walls, walls, and ceiling, performing detailed HEPA vacuuming, and applying a plant-based antimicrobial agent. F- Boiler Room Interior Reconstruction - The reconstruction phase includes restoring the boiler room and surrounding areas after mitigation. Magnitude of Construction is between $25,000 and $100,000

Background The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), specifically the Forest Service – Region 2, is issuing a solicitation for the Buffalo Creek Work Center Boiler Replacement and Electrical Upgrades project. The goal of this contract is to replace an existing boiler and perform necessary electrical upgrades to enhance the facility's operational efficiency. Work Details The work includes several key tasks: A) Propane Gas-Fire Boiler - Supply and install one high-efficiency propane gas-fired boiler equivalent to Dunkirk Quantum 90, Q90-200, including all plumbing, electrical work, expansion tanks, solenoids, water lines, regulators, and miscellaneous components required for installation. B) Backflow Preventer Replacement - Replace one Caleffi 573012A ½” Backflow Preventer and AutoFill Combination with Pressure Gauge, along with a two-way ball valve. C) Water Line Replacement - Replace approximately 5 feet of 1” copper water line, 6 feet of ¾” copper water line, and 3 feet of ½” copper water line. D) Electrical Panel Upgrade - Upgrade two outdated electrical panels located in the entry stairway and attic to a new panel with junction boxes and extended circuits. Ensure all new work is grounded. E) Mold Remediation - Mitigate water damage in the boiler room by temporarily removing plumbing as needed, tearing out contaminated materials, cleaning surfaces, HEPA vacuuming, and applying an antimicrobial agent. F) Boiler Room Interior Reconstruction - Restore the boiler room and surrounding areas post-mitigation. Period of Performance The estimated period of performance for this contract is from April 1, 2026, through May 20, 2026.
